Search Engine Advertising

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) via Google Ads is at the core of what we do.

We've been crafting profitable Ads campaigns on behalf of businesses small and large since 2009, with relentless improvement in our technology, strategies, education, and service.

Just getting started?

Let us ease you in.  The first $250 in Ads fees is on us!  For many industries, $250 in advertising can go a surprisingly long way.  Start seeing the benefits before spending your own budget.

What does it mean to engage with a
Google Partner Organization?

In short, it means that you can expect professional service, high-quality campaigns, and a strong focus on profitability.  Google trusts us enough to extend Partner status because we have a strong team of AdWords-certified experts, serve a wide array of clients, and have managed a large collective budget responsibly and successfully for many years.

Just ask Google:  Talk to us, and we'll put you in touch with a colleague at Google who can vouch for our performance and professionalism.

It also means that we have direct access to priority support on the "inside", as well as early access for our clients to the latest Ads features and beta programs.

SC: What Is Included?

How should Search Engine Marketing fit into your larger marketing strategy?

While ClickSynaptic can create and manage a standalone SEM strategy for you, we recommend considering our PartnerDM engagement, which includes Search Advertising along with Display Advertising, landing page/microsite design & development, remarketing, call-only campaigns, video marketing management, call tracking, analytics, reporting, and more.

If you're not quite ready for PartnerDM, then Search Advertising is the place to start — for most businesses and industries, it's the marketing avenue that provides the most direct and cost-effective means of finding new customers.  Other services, such as remarketing and responsive display advertising, can be "layered into" search advertising as you start to see results and become comfortable with digital marketing in general.

What should you expect from a ClickSynaptic SEM program?

In a phrase:  Thoughtful and profitable search advertising.  We've achieved success for ourselves and our clients because we believe in a tailored approach.  Here's what you can expect:

A dedicated account manager.  This is the individual responsible for your marketing success.  Their role is to get to know you and your business, in order to properly construct your advertising campaigns, and to be available to you at all times to support your objectives — by email, phone, and yes, even in-person.  Over time, many of our account managers reach "trusted advisor" status with their clients, as many of our consultants have marketing expertise well beyond digital marketing.

We'll ask many questions about your business.  Beware of any digital marketing agency willing to prepare your campaigns without first establishing a thorough understanding of your business and your goals.  Your campaigns will be informed by your business' historical marketing approaches, current brand strength, general market strengths, any other advertising currently running (e.g., print), geographic and demographic targets, any existing competition, and a host of other factors.

We'll design and develop your campaigns.  This is where we bring all of our industry knowledge, technical expertise, creative talent, and proprietary processes to bear in crafting an outstanding set of campaigns for your business.  This is often, though not necessarily, done in combination with other digital marketing elements (e.g., display campaigns; landing pages/microsites).

We'll ask for your feedback.  We are indeed the advertising experts, but you know more about your business and market than anyone else, so we need your feedback.  We'll want you to take a look at your campaigns and approve them, or make suggestions for changes, before we begin running them.  (This type of close collaboration will form a theme throughout your relationship with ClickSynaptic, and in particular, with your account manager.)

We'll launch your campaigns, followed by obsessive monitoring, adjustment, and improvement, indefinitely.  Search Engine Marketing is a long-term game, not a set-it-and-forget-it solution.  To succeed on your behalf, our team will make regular and frequent updates to your campaigns, including fresh ad copy, new keywords, bidding and targeting adjustments, and quite a long list of other factors we won't bore you with here (although we can — so feel free to ask).  The objective is always to find new customers for your business at an ever-lowering cost, so we pay attention to metrics that matter — click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates, cost per acquisition (CPA), and return on investment (ROI).

We'll remain in close contact.  You can expect to be in communication with your advisor about as frequently as you like.  In the beginning stages, it's not uncommon to communicate several times weekly about performance, adjustments, and planning.  Monthly performance reports including commentary are always provided (to supplement your anytime-accessible performance dashboard).

SC: Why Only Google

Why do we recommend starting your digital advertising with Google?

We can and do run successful advertising campaigns via Bing/Yahoo, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, along with private media buys for larger accounts.  In our experience, however, most businesses simply see the greatest benefit at lowest cost within the Google advertising ecosystem.  Note that we receive no remuneration whatsoever from Google directly; this is simply our observation.

The comparison between Google and other search engine advertising options (e.g., Bing/Yahoo) mainly comes down to (1) audience exposure; and (2) capability.  With the first there is in fact little comparison, in that Google's audience is substantially larger — immense, actually: Google handles more than 40,000 search queries per second.  As to the second, AdWords' flexibility, features, and analytics capabilities are second to none, and are expanded on a nearly monthly basis.

A comparison between the Ads Search Network and Facebook's advertising network, for instance, should be treated as apples-to-oranges.  The former facilitates "paid search", whereas the latter involves what is known as "paid social".  In short, Google can show ads in response to exact search queries, whereas Facebook's ads are far less targeted, showing on the basis of demographic and behavioral characteristics.  For certain objectives, this is appropriate.  For rapid customer relationship generation, however, the effectiveness of responding to exact searches is unmatched.
